My Agrisummer connects children with their Armenian identity.
We live in the consumerist reality where we are taught from early childhood that we are happy when we consume. The world makes us feel incomplete and depressed due to the lack of this or that product in our life. It creates feeling of exhaustion and constant worries. How can we create that peace within ourselves and learn to be happy with what we have? While looking for the answers it was evident that most effective way is the constant contact with the natural world which helps to reduce stress, create more fulfilled life and abstain from consumerism. This experiences need to be nurtured from childhood and we created this program for children to give them the opportunity to get to know a different world which has its proven benefits for children’s development and well-being.

Artisan food is inseparable from village life. Village women are proud holders of this food making culture and will share the secrets and traditions of artisan food making. Children will learn about Armenian artisan food that has a long history passing from generation to generation. “Learning to make food by hand from the scratch is putting your heart into it. Here children will be given a chance to walk in the “shoes” of locals. This workshop enables participants to live one day the life of locals. It is a hands-on learning experience that pushes boundaries and makes space for understanding.
